The Director will organize the library’s response in emergency situations. In the event that the Director is not present, the person in charge (PIC) will be responsible for organizing the response. Methods of dealing with emergencies (fire, flood, tornado, etc.) are determined and rehearsed in advance. In the event of a catastrophic emergency, the Director is authorized to act in the best interest of the district and close the library facility should he or she deem it necessary. In the event of severe weather conditions or other lesser emergencies, the Director will consult with the Board President (or other Board officer, should the President be unavailable) regarding closing the library facility.
