Program Description

Event Details

Illinois can be proud of Jane Addams—reformer, founder of Hull House, Nobel Prize winner, and a person of great insight into mending social conflict. Joyce Haworth charts Addams’ unique story, covering everything from her unhappy years as a young woman and the founding of the nation’s first “settlement house” to the struggle she faced while standing for peace in a time of war.
