DVD and Videotape Collection: Our Rules. . .
- You must be a least 18 years old to borrow DVDs or videotapes from the adult department. Any cardholder may check out children's videotapes located on the lower level. You MUST have your own valid library card with you when checking out videotapes.
- You may have no more than FIVE DVDs and FIVE videotapes PER LIBRARY CARD at one time.
- Each item will be issued for a THREE day loan period. NO RENEWALS.
- An overdue fine of $2.00 PER TITLE PER DAY will be charged for late items.
- You may return DVDs or videotapes to the convenient drive-up video return located in the library parking lot or to the circulation desk. You MAY NOT return them to other libraries.
- All DVDs and videotapes are intended for HOME USE ONLY. Fox Lake Library DVDs and videos may not be shown in classrooms, at group meetings or anywhere else outside the home.
- Please read and follow instructions on the cover of each DVD and videotape box.
Internet Use Policy
- Access to the Internet is provided by the Fox Lake District Library free of charge, except for a ten cents per page printout charge.
- Each user of library Internet workstations must sign in and leave a current public library card, current driver's license, current state identification card or other current photo identification at the front desk during Internet use. Only persons signing in may use the Internet terminals.
- All parents and guardians are advised that they are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the Internet at the library and for providing all necessary supervision. The library does not act as substitute parent.
- No person under age 18 may access the Internet at the library without a "Consent and Release" form signed by a parent or guardian on file at the library. Children under age 13 must be accompanied and continouously supervised by a parent or legal guardian during use of the Internet at the library
- Use of library Internet workstations is limited to one hour when others are waiting.
Prior users must wait thirty minutes before signing in again for use of a workstation on the same day.
- All users of Internet workstations and persons accompanying them must respect the comfort and privacy of other Internet users at the library.
- Lower level computers are restricted to use by grade school age children and their parents or guardians, or by adults accompanying young children to the library
- Users of wireless Internet at the library will observe all applicable regular Internet rules.
- Library computers and printers are powered down ten minutes prior to closing. All computer use and printing will without exception conclude at this time.
- Internet users may not install "wallpaper" images or interfere with or change the library's computer settings in any way. Patrons will be responsible for charges resulting from the correction of any interference with library computers.
- With the exception of earphones, Internet users may not connect their own equipment to the library's computers or network. Users of audio media must bring their own earphones.
- The library does not guarantee the authority, accuracy, or currency of information available on the Internet, nor does it take responsibility to any extent for patron use of the Internet at the library. The library is not responsible for the operation of any website or service accessed through the library's Internet terminals.
- Library staff members cannot assist with the inputting or submission of information to the Internet. Free training in using the World Wide Web is available at the library at determined times. Please inquire at the circulation desk.
- Users of the Internet at the library are cautioned that information and images that are inappropriate for use in a public place are available on the Internet. Courtesy to other patrons and to library staff in this regard must be observed by all Internet users at the Library.
- This listing of Internet use policies and regulations will be reviewed by each user of the Internet at the library. By signing in for Internet use, each user agrees to abide by these policies and regulations.
- The Internet use privileges of anyone not abiding by these rules will be suspended for three months on the first infraction, and permanently for any infraction thereafter.
